Robin Webb Nominated in the 18th Senate District

Robin Webb Greenup, July 21, 2009 - Democratic Executive Committee members in Bracken, Carter, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, and Robertson Counties today voted to nominate State Representative Robin Webb to run for the vacant 18th District Senate seat.  The election will take place on August 25.

Webb was nominated during a public meeting and given a pledge of full support by the Kentucky Democratic Party.

"Robin Webb has the experience and ability to make an immediate impact in the Senate," KDP Chair Charles E. Moore said.  "She has a proven record of leadership and as a former coal miner, she understands the needs of hard working Kentucky families and has been their champion as a member of the General Assembly."

Webb spent time after the selection thanking her supporters.  "Together, I know we can do this," said Webb.  "Having represented the two most Republican counties of this district and being the daughter of both a Republican and a Democrat, I know first-hand how to work in a bipartisan manner to best serve the citizens of my Senate District."

Webb has represented the people of Carter and Lewis Counties as 96th District State Representative since 1999.  She is an attorney and is active in a variety of civic organizations serving children and families.  Webb lives in Grayson with her two children.
